One you one of those teenagers who are confused about the rapid changes in your body? Puberty is one of the most confusing times of our lives and it is alright to feel bewildered with all the changes that you body undergoes at this stage. For instance, pimples or zits may start appearing in your face at this stage which can cause you a lot of distress. Although zits are more common in boys than they are in girls, some girls do suffer from severe pimples. In fact, there are a good number of girls that suffer through severe zits and end up with many unwanted scars on their faces. If you happen to have a sister or a brother who has pimples, your risk of having zits during your puberty is a lot higher than those who do not have a family history of pimples.
Avoiding Zits
According to experts, some people are more prone to pimples than others. Studies show that zits are more common on people with oil skin. Too much oil in your face would cause the dead skin to skin together and block your pores. Clogged pores are the favorite places of bacteria. As the bacteria in the clogged pores build-up, pimples or zits will start to appear on the skin. The size of the pimples depends on the degree of irritation on the skin. If the skin is severely irritated, you may have huge pimples erupting on your skin. Not only does these pimples very unsightly, there are also painful and uncomfortable.
Pimples or zits can be quite itchy at times that there are times when you can help but scratch them. Unfortunately, scratching your pimples may cause infection and more miseries on your part. Irritated pimples can grow to a really large size and it is not uncommon for some parts of the face to get really swollen and red for a few days. If you have no intention of making yourself more miserable than you already are, do not attempt to scratch that zit or apply some substances that could cause further irritation on your skin.
Whiteheads And Zits
When the pores of the skin get clogged with dead skin and bacteria start to build up, the natural defense system of the body reacts and rushes to the site where there is build up of bacteria. The white blood cells of the body are the natural infection fighters and they usually try to contain growth of the bacteria in the zits. In most cases, the presence of the white blood cells in the affected area gives the pimple that whitehead appearance.
